Born and raised on Oahu, SHIZUE (AKA Maia), grew up busking on the sidewalks of Waikiki with her Ukulele. It was at that age where she also fell in love with reading and gastronomy. She started Books, Brews, & Beats as a passion project that pays homage to the wonderful power of literature, live music, and good Coffee. When she is not teaching Ukulele for the Hawaii Youth Symphony or cafe hopping, she enjoys making Ukulele EDM and hanging out with her furry children.
